The Fascination of Applewood Hills

Today I got up and decided I would go for a walk in my neighbourhood to clear my mind. As soon as I stepped out of my house I got a whiff of a very cold breeze. I walked along Bloor St as I saw people walking home from buying their groceries and saw people getting on the bus, as I walked up a bit more I reached Highpoint mall. Here I have observed many stores and places such as Grant’s Food Mart, I Heart Boba, Luca Pizza, Optical Glasses, High-point Medical Building, Husky Gas Station and Mechanics, Snowflake Nail Salon, Chatr and Dixie Bloor Convenience. I continue walking as I cut through the mall and I have reached a local church called Logos Family Church. As I walk past there I arrive at St. Sophia Catholic School and Glenhaven Sr. Public School, now I see kids are heading home after school, and this is one of the spots where people hangout in their leisure time to do many activities. I have reached my favourite aspect which is the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre, this is the main spot where everyone in my neighbourhood spends their leisure time which is really good for after school activities as we have many drop in programs. I have now made my way across the street where I walk past Jaycee Park, I observe many children playing at the park and people walking their dogs. A little ahead I have reached Dixie rd and as I continue to walk I see the Mississauga Fire Station and Paramedic. I walk down Burnhamthorpe rd and see another set of schools which are Glenforest Secondary School and Forest Glen Public School. I have decided to take a shortcut to make my way back home which was in Little Etobicoke Creek. In this creek can see animals, people running along the trail, people exercising, or just simply taking a walk. Now I’m walking by Burnhamdale Park where there are a lot of kids playing at the park, rollerblading, and riding a bike. Now I have officially made it back home. I begin to sit down and reflect on an interaction that occurred on my walk. I was walking by Fieldgate Plaza and I overheard two people arguing. This was around 4:00pm. One man was yelling at a subway worker because the man messed up his order. The man sounded very frustrated as if this wasn’t his first time. It caught many people's attention as everyone just kind of stood and stared. After completing this walk it helps me realize how much we actually observe our surroundings everyday on a day to day basis.
